SCC offering free online class for individuals with disabilities and their families

Southeast Community College is offering a free online course, “It’s All About the Plan,” designed for adults with disabilities who receive services through the Nebraska Division of Developmental Disabilities and their families and guardians to assist them in meaningfully participating in the Individual Support Plan process.

“It’s All About the Plan” was developed by Fritz & O’Hare Associates and SCC through a grant from the Nebraska Planning Council on Developmental Disabilities. Tuition for the course is funded by the grant.

The course includes two modules, one for individuals and one for parents and guardians. The modules are self‐paced and may be taken either individually or shown in group settings such as advocacy groups or trainings. The course includes a supplemental guidebook and a facilitator handbook for use in a group setting.

To register, contact SCC’s Continuing Education Office at 402-437-2700. For general information about the course or assistance in using it in group settings, call Fritz & O’Hare Associates at 402-890-0636 or email [email protected].
