Since 2009, the SCC Beatrice Art Dept. has provided handmade pottery bowls for the annual Empty Bowls Luncheon.

The proceeds of this luncheon benefit the Beatrice Backpack Program to “help us fill empty bowls of the needy,” said Nancy Hagler Vujovic.

This year’s luncheon will be held on Tuesday, March 18, from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Classic’s Restaurant. Tickets are 25$.

The pottery bowls the attendees will receive were crafted by:

– Nelson Dungan at Beatrice High School

­- The SCC Beatrice Art Department

– Local potter Ervin Dixon at Cedar Creek Pottery

– Patrick McKinney at Flowing Stone Pottery

– Kathleen Grossman at Down Under Pottery in Lincoln.

A variety of soups from Beatrice fine restaurants and caterers will be served.
