For musicians living in Nebraska who play the guitar, they may think that finding quality instruments may be a little bit challenging, but the truth is, it’s not at all.
Sometimes buying a guitar used is better than buying one new.
It has been proven that the longer a guitar is allowed to age, the better it sounds.
When going on a search for the one guitar that sounds perfect, keep in mind that “one man’s trash could be another man’s treasure.”
The first place I have narrowed down my search to buy quality used guitars would have to be Dietz Music shop.
Sam Coil, a local student and guitar player, advised, “In my mind, one of the best places to buy used guitars would have to be Dietz [Music].
Dietz never buys anything that wouldn’t satisfy the customer.”
Some may say that going to mom and pop shops like pawn shops would be cheaper, which is true but, the guitar’s quality may not be as good.
Nick Hermensen, another guitar player from UNL, said, “I once had a bad experience buying a used guitar from a pawn shop.
The guitar was very nice and the price was very low; I decided to take a shot and buy it.
When I got home, I noticed some of the electrical work on the inside was not put together right at all, making the guitar sound funny.”
Going to a well known store like Dietz Music can ensure a guitar that plays to its full potential.
Gil Allgood, a UNL student, said, “one of my favorite places to go check out used guitars besides Dietz is also Guitar Center.
Not only can I trust the quality of the guitar but, I can also get a warrantee on the guitar in case anything happens to it.”
Based on research on the pawn shops in Lincoln and other local musical stores, only Dietz and Guitar Center offers warrantees on their used items.
