Six members of Southeast Community College’s Beatrice Campus chapter of Phi Beta Lambda attended the organization’s National Leadership Conference in Orlando, Fla., in late June.Courtney Hasse (Tri County High School) and Jodi Hasse (Fairbury High School) of DeWitt; Brandon Staroscik (Tri County High School), Christie Pyle (Fairbury High School) and Peggy Schmidt, all of Beatrice; and Andrea Kriesel (Thayer Central High School) of Hebron, represented SCC. Karen Emerson, instructor in the Business Administration program, accompanied the students.
“The students did very well,” Emerson said.
Three students placed in the top 10 in their event. Staroscik placed sixth in Computer Concepts, Jodi Hasse placed sixth in Job Interview, and Schmidt placed eighth in Client Services. These three students were recognized on stage during the awards program.
