After a year of waiting, remodeling for Computer Aided Design Drafting classrooms was recently completed. Monday was the first day that students got to use the new classrooms.
Dan Masters of the CADD program explained that labs were remodeled with advanced technology in order to integrate labs.
The CACC program lecture hall was also expanded to accommodate CAM equipment and more students.
The year-long process involved the division dean receiving financing for new equipment for the division office. The funds that were left over after these changes were used to pay for the remodeling.
Masters said it is an exciting thing for the program and was excited to unveil the newly-remodeled rooms to the students.
He added that these changes will be beneficial to the program because it will give more students an opportunity to use equipment because the addition to the lab will allow students more hours of availability.
Masters also said it would allow for students to experience new and old equipment in a more professional environment such as one they may encounter in a job.
Approximately 65-70 students are currently enrolled in the program, and the program accepts 24 new students per quarter. This number will not be affected by the remodel.
