Second-quarter students in Southeast Community College’s Dental Assisting program worked at the 21st Annual Dental Day sponsored by the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s College of Dentistry.
“They did a wonderful job,” said Susan Asher, program chair. “It is such a good cause for the dental health of children in need in Nebraska. One of our program goals is to value (compassion for humanity) by giving back to the community through service activities.”
Dr. Stan Harn, professor of oral biology in the COD, thanked everyone who helped at Dental Day, including students in SCC’s Dental Assisting program, UNMC’s College of Nursing, Central Community College’s Dental Hygiene program, Wayne State College’s Predental Club, and others.
Despite an approaching snowstorm that caused cancellation of two busloads of children that day, 135 children were treated.
