The Southeast Community College Beatrice Campus Student Senate is currently hard at work on three new projects.
“Right now we are trying to get more equipment in the fitness room,” said Student Activities Coordinator Carrie Puhalla, “it has been getting a lot of use so we are trying to upgrade and improve it.”
Also being worked on currently are projects to get a T.V. installed above the snack bar in the student center so that students there will be able to see any messages that are on the school channel, and restarting intramural sports after the end of the quarter.
“We’re pushing for intramurals,” said Puhalla. “We’re trying to pick up again in January.”
Current intramurals are Basketball held Tuesdays at 8 p.m. and Volleyball held Thursdays at 8 p.m.
“We like to have two members from every program, and right now we don’t,” said Puhalla, “but our numbers are up.”
The SCC Beatrice Student Senate is open to any student and membership in the senate is obtained by attending the meetings.
Student Senate meetings are held on Mondays at 11 a.m. in K506 and include a free lunch.
