A weekly orientation schedule for persons who plan to enroll in Adult Education/General Education Development classes at Southeast Community College’s Beatrice Campus has been set.
Persons interested in enrolling are asked to call the AE office at SCC at 402-228-8236 or 800-233-5027 ext. 1236 to register. An annual registration fee of $20 is required. Orientation sessions will be held at 9 a.m. on Tuesdays, July 31, and Aug. 7, 14, 21, and 28. Limited space is available.
Adult Education is a federal and state program that provides basic education skills at no cost to individuals who are 16 years of age and older and not enrolled in school.
The major components of AE include GED preparation for those without a high school diploma, basic skills for those who need to improve in a specific area or enhance their life skills, English as a Second Language for residents who wish to learn to speak, read and write English and citizenship classes for those wishing to become a United States citizen.
