Many Lincoln residents are not aware that there are two first Fridays art walk locations.
There’s downtown, which has many of the major art galleries, and the lesser-known North Lincoln Art Crawl, which has many smaller galleries that often times feature students and upcoming artists’ work.
First Friday art walks are held on the first Friday of every month at galleries and businesses. It serves as a non–stop shop of artwork, including pottery, paintings, photography, music and much more.
Just like downtown First Fridays, the North Lincoln Art Crawl features free admission and each gallery has drinks and appetizers. There is also the added bonus of free public parking.
The participating locations for the North Lincoln Art Crawl include 9 Muses Studio, located at 2713 N 48th Street; Community Crops, located at Fremont and Touzalin; International Quilt Study Center & Museum, located at the Intersection of 33rd & Holdrege Streets; LUX Center for the Arts, located at 2601 N 48th Street; and Mo Java Café, located at 2649 N 48th Street.
All galleries are open from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with the exception of the International Quilt Study Center & Museum, which is open 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. and the Lux Center for the Arts which is open 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
