Marshalltown shuts down Lady Storm

Marshalltown Community College quieted the SCC Storm softball bats en route to winning a doubleheader at Marshalltown Friday, April 11.

Southeast lost the first game 6-0. MCC outhit the Lady Storm 8-1, with Haley Carlsen collecting the lone hit. Marshalltown’s Sarah Wilson fanned 15 SCC batters, while Kamie Fuller managed to strike out two in taking the loss.

The Lady Storm generated seven hits in the second game, but was unable to drive them home as they fell 10-2.

Kamie Fuller and Mallory Dorn belted RBIs for Southeast while Haley Carlsen led the batters with two hits in the loss.

Head Coach Bob Ginsburg said that errors, strikeouts, and “bad-at-bats” continue to plague the team.

SCC’s record is now 2-30 on the season.
