Larry Williams, executive director of the Clyde Malone Community Center in Lincoln, will deliver the keynote address during the 19th Annual MLK “Freedom Breakfast.”
The event honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. will take place from 7:30-8:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, at the Embassy Suites Hotel, 11th and P streets, Lincoln.
The event is being hosted by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Southeast Community College and the Lincoln Public School District. Williams took over as director of the Malone Community Center in March 2011. He previously served as director of Lincoln’s Commission on Human Rights for more than 10 years. He holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Nebraska College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin. He was a member of the No Place for Hate planning group, past president of the Lincoln Interfaith Council, member of the Citizens Against Racism and Discrimination, NAACP and more.
