A hot-shooting Lady Storm team overwhelmed Little Priest Tribal College 102-56 Friday, January 9, at Little Priest.

“SCC took the tip, scored and never looked back, “Head Coach Vicki Wooton said.

The game was an all-around offensive effort as everyone on the team was able to score. Aliah Tai, Chelsea Savage and Kenae Merritt each had 14 points, while Dionne Martin added 10.

Southeast shot 49 percent from the floor and 80 percent from the free throw line.

Wooton added that her team also played a “great defensive game.” Little Priest committed 33 turnovers and was held to 23 percent shooting in the first half.

Hannah Roberts and Tai dominated the boards with 11 and 10 respectively. Brianna Grant harassed the Priest ball handlers into a team, leading six steals.

Grant and Roberts are among the top players in the country this season in steals and block shots. Grant is ranked 7th in steals with 4.1 a game, while Roberts is ranked 23rd with 1.6 blocks a game.

The win improved SCC’s record to 9-6 on the season.

The Lady Storm will be back in action at home Saturday, Jan. 17, for a conference game with North Platte. The game will be on ihigh.com/sccstorm.
