BEATRICE – Seventy students will graduate in the Fall Quarter commencement proceedings on Southeast Community College’s Beatrice Campus.
Commencement will be held on SCC Beatrice Campus in the Truman Center on Friday, Dec. 16, at 7 p.m.
Sixty-six Students will graduate from college programs, and four will graduate from GED programs.
The guest Speaker will be Dorothy Zimmerman Former Assistant Administrator and Director of Nursing at Beatrice Community Hospital and Health Center.
Zimmerman, originally from the Sutton and Henderson area and a graduate of Goshen College in Goshen, Ind., began her 39-year tenure at BCHHC as Director of Nursing, a position she filled from 1969 until 1976.
In 1976, Zimmerman was named Assistant Administrator for patient services. She filled this position until being named compliance and regulations officer in 2006.
Zimmerman remained in this role until her retirement on May 2, 2008.
Beatrice Campus Director Bob Morgan will present the graduates, with SCC Board of Governors Member Dale Kruse awarding degrees and diplomas and Beatrice Campus Dean of Student Services Dr. Thomas Cardwell presenting honors for students graduating with distinction or with high distinction.
Graduating Phi Theta Kappa members will also be recognized.
Students need a GPA of 3.5 or better to become a member of PTK.
Science Instructor Dolan Freeouf will play the processional and recessional for the commencement.
