MILFORD – One hundred thirty-one students will graduate from their programs of study on Friday, Dec. 16, at 6:30 p.m. in the Welsh Center on Southeast Community College’s Milford Campus.
One hundred twenty-eight graduates will receive their Associate’s degree and three students will receive diplomas.
Owner of Custom Climate Control in Beatrice Kenneth L Sillman will receive the Outstanding Alumnus Award. Glenn Pasho, Program Chair of the Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology Program at Milford will present the award to Sillman.
Sillman, of Beatrice, graduated from the HVAC program at SCC Milford in June of 1978. After graduation he began working at Custom Climate Control and worked his way up to his current position of owner.
To receive the Outstanding Alumnus Award a person must first be nominated by an instructor or advisor, they then send in a resume, and complete a phone interview.
Finally all of the nominees are passed on to a selection committee, which then chooses who the recipient will be.
Bill Beltz, Program Chair of the Business Administration Program at Milford, will be the guest speaker, with SCC Board of Governors Member Ed C Heiden awarding the degrees and diplomas.
