Robert J. Feit of Pickrell took over as chairman of the Southeast Community College Board of Governors Tuesday after a vote during the Board’s regular monthly meeting.
Feit replaced Lynn Schluckebier of Seward, who completed a two-year term as chair. Schluckebier was elected secretary during the meeting. Jim Garver of Lincoln was elected vice chair, while Kathy Boellstorff of Johnson was re-elected as treasurer.
Feit, who represents District 3 within SCC’s 15-county area, has been a member of the Board since November 1997. He is a member of the Executive and Finance & Facilities teams within the BOG.
Feit is a Fairbury Junior College graduate who went on to earn a degree in accounting from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. A Wymore High School graduate, Feit is the chief executive officer of RJF Consulting. He retired from the Beatrice Board of Public Works as director of administrative services.
For years Feit has been involved in community college activities. He represents the Western Region as a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Community College Trustees and served as chair of the Western Region. He also is a Board member and former chair of the Nebraska Community College Association.
Garver, most recently Board secretary, was an at-large selection to the Board in November 2007. He is a member of the Executive and Planning teams within the BOG.
He is a graduate of Lincoln High School and went on to earn a degree in business and economics from UNL. Garver is a senior tax specialist in the Tax Policy section of the Nebraska Department of Revenue. He was a member of the Lincoln Board of Education from 1985-2005. He is an associate member of the Member Communications and Education Committee within ACCT.
Schluckebier, who represents District 1, has been a member of the BOG since June 1995. He is a member of the Executive and Equity & Human Resources teams within the BOG.
He holds master’s and bachelor’s degrees in agriculture education from UNL and is a Seward High School graduate. Since 1977, Schluckebier has been a pork producer/farmer. Prior to that he worked for the Nebraska Department of Education.
Schluckebier is a member of the NCCA Board and has held numerous offices with the National Farm Ranch Business Management Education Association.
Boellstorff, who represents District 2, has been a member of the BOG since January 2009. She is a member of the Executive and Finance & Facilities teams within the BOG. She is self-employed in production agriculture with her husband Mark.
She has studied at Peru State College, Metropolitan Community College and SCC. She is a graduate of Dubuque (Iowa) High School. She has been chair of the Nebraska Grain Sorghum Development Utilization & Marketing Board, director of the U.S. Grains Council, and president of the Nebraska Chapter of Women Involved in Farm Economics. She was a member of the Johnson-Brock Board of Education from 1995-2002.
