Leldon left Merrimack College at the end of his freshman year to come to Lincoln, Nebraska. After attending summer camps for exposure, he decided that SCC was a good match. He got into basketball after playing as a hobby and get away, but learned he was really good at it. His mother also played basketball in high school.
Leldon’s toughest challenge was, as he describes, “Deciding to come to Nebraska to help my mom and brother vs staying with my sister, niece, and grandmother. I was thinking past myself, and it was a life changing and growing opportunity.”
After graduating from SCC, he plans to attend a university, finish out school, and play at the Division I or II level. After finishing at university, he hopes to play professional ball.
Leldon describes himself in three words as Ambitious, Competitive, and Forgiving.
His greatest strength is his courage. He isn’t afraid to go against others, but rather, embraces the challenge. His current weaknesses are lateral quickness; and he needs to work on speed and conditioning.
The best advice Leldon was given was to take advantage of his gift and not to settle for good, but go for great.
The best time he had with the Storm was the double-header game against North Platte and McCook. He said, “Against North Platte we weren’t doing well, but after Trey was severely injured, we pulled together and won against McCook. It really brought us together as a team.”
One goal of Leldon’s is to help the Storm make it to the National Tournament. He continued, “I wanna put Southeast on the map, because we have a great community here and I wanna bring more light to this great school.”
