LINCOLN – Southeast Community College will be hosting a Blood Drive on Monday, Nov. 12, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on campus in room U102.

The blood drive is conducted by the Nebraska Community Blood Bank and coordinated by The Student Senate Wellness Committee.

When asked about past years, Rachel Mason, who helps to put on events such as the blood drive, said, “We’ve seen a turnout of about 50-75 people … It’d be nice if we were so packed we’d have to turn people away.”

There will be sign-up sheets posted in the Student Center and around campus. Walk-in’s are welcome and the blood drive is open to anyone, not only students and staff at SCC.

Donors must have a photo ID. There are a few requirements to donate blood which can be found at the bottom of the sign-up sheets.

Free food will be given to those who donate. This quarter’s menu includes sloppy joes, chips, cookies and a drink.

Mason has worked at Southeast Community College for the last 34 years, and she said “they’ve had a Blood Drive every year since I’ve worked here. That’s 34 years SCC has been hosting the Blood Drive if not longer.”

More information is available online and online sign up can be found at https://donor.ncbb.org/web/
