They comedy of the summer, “Bad Moms,” is the female version of the 2009 comedy, “The Hangover.”

Going into the theater on Thursday, I was expecting a funny movie that would help me lose thought of everything that was happening with school and work this week, and it did. I laughed the whole hour and forty minutes.

The film has its moments of raunchiness, but any R-rated movie does. Bad Moms has a stacked list of mom-like actresses: from Christina Applegate, Jada Pinkett Smith and Kristen Bell.

Amy (Mila Kunis), an overworked and stressed out mom of two who is frustrated with how the PTA works under Applegate’s character.

From ridiculous restrictions for the bake sale to four hour meetings, Amy is over it.

Amy and two other moms (Kiki and Carla) decided to become “bad moms” and who don’t follow the PTA rules.

After Amy’s daughter is benched from the soccer team by the PTA, Kiki and Carla suggest that Amy runs for PTA president. After she voices her opinions of how Applegate is running things, the other moms agree and vote Amy into the position.

Overall, this movie is a good end to summer right before school starts. Many school districts take the PTA way too seriously, and active members are usually stay-at home moms. This movie shows how hard it is to balance a career, after-school activities and PTA meetings. Three and a half stars out of five for me.
