Storm earns third straight road win

It was Bobby Parker and Jalen “Showtime” Wilkins-McCoy that powered the Storm to its third straight road win.

Parker had 33 points, scoring from all over the court. He went 5-6 from the 3-point line and 10-12 from the charity stripe. Overall, he was 10-12 from the field.

Meanwhile, Wilkins-McCoy turned in a double/double. He poured in 24 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. He was also hot from the field, going 12-14.

SCC took advantage of Fort Scott leading scorer Detramtrius Walker’s absence, jumping out to a 37-31 lead.  

In the second half, SCC out-hustled the greyhounds 48-36, and the defense held Fort Scott sharpshooter Tyler Zinn to 11 points. SCC also dominated the boards, out rebounding FSCC 43-21.

Taylor Britt orchestrating the Storm offense to a tune of nine assists, while contributing nine points.

Southeast also shot 54.1 percent from the field.

After losing three in a row to start the season, the Storm has road wins over Doane JV (83.69), North Central (92-87), in addition to Fort Scott.

The win moves SCC’s record to 11-9 on the season. They will look to avenge an earlier loss to McCook (95-90) on Friday, Jan. 27th at the Truman Center.
