Whether you love it or hate it, “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3” is and generated more than $775 million in its first five days.
Thought to be one of the most beloved and hated game franchises, many have taken sides. Some love it for it’s new tweaks, while others hate it because it’s very similar to its predecessors.
The very detailed and controversial campaign mode follows the plot of a World War 3 in which the Russians are invading Germany, France, England and even New York City.
However, the campaign mode can easily be completed in six hours or less and follows the typical, albeit annoying, formula of run into a room, shoot the “bad guys,” then repeat, which has been true of all Call of Duty Games in the past.
Many Call of Duty gamers have learned to expect this from the game. They don’t buy the game for its single player/campaign mode, they buy it for its multiplayer game play. When it comes to multiplayer, Call of Duty delivers.
For the most part, the game play is unchanged compared to past Call of Duty editions. Fans are getting what they expect and love from the franchise with some minor improvements.
New improvements to multiplayer game play include kill confirmation, where players have to grab the dog tags of the person they killed, maps that allow for less camping, and a wide range of weapons with many different attachments.
Even though MW3 sticks to Call of Duty’s typical formula, many fans find the subtle improvements have greatly improved game play, which may be key to fans returning to this blockbuster game year after year.
