SCC volleyball signs Mead standout Devynn Patocka

Devynn Patocka, who established numerous school records during her career at Mead High School, has signed a letter of intent to play volleyball for Southeast Community College.

Patocka set three school records as a senior and five each as a junior and sophomore. As a senior she earned First-Team All-Class D-2 honors from the Lincoln Journal Star, was a First-Team All-State Nebraska Prep Volleyball selection and was First-Team All-Area by the Wahoo newspaper. The Omaha World-Herald selected her for its Honorable Mention Class D-2 team, and she was a second-team selection in the East Central Nebraska Conference and the Fremont Tribune newspaper.

The daughter of Doug and Denise Patocka, she led Mead to a berth in the Class D-2 State Tournament her senior year. Mead lost in the first round to end the season with a 26-6 record.

As a junior at Mead, Patocka was a First-Team All-Area selection by the Wahoo newspaper, a Second-Team All-Class D-2 by the Omaha World-Herald and Second-Team All-Area by the Fremont Tribune, Third-Team All-ECNC and Honorable Mention All-Area by the World-Herald.

As a sophomore, Patocka earned First-Team All-Area honors by the Wahoo newspaper and Honorable Mention recognition by the Fremont Tribune, ECNC, Lincoln Journal Star (all-state), and Omaha World-Herald (all-state and all-Omaha area).

Patocka was coached at Meed by Keshia Havelka.
