Wyatt Swaim, known as “Mister TIG™,” will lead an intense two-day seminar at Southeast Community College that will cover the tungsten inert gas welding process and how it relates to the motorsports industry.

Class participants will receive a solid mix of lab and classroom instruction, including education on professional welding techniques used in chassis and component construction, discussion of exotic material selection and preparation, exposure to the latest advancements in consumables and accessories, and development of a solid competitive advantage.
Swaim has more than 30 years of welding experience and is known throughout the world as the leading expert in the TIG welding industry.
He founded Hi-Tech Welding Services Inc. in 1986 and developed a complete production facility geared toward providing the highest level of welding, research and development, welding engineering, and metallurgy to high-tech industries. This facility includes TIG, plasma and electron beam welding, as well as non-destructive testing, X-ray and penetrant inspection.
Swaim is the author of a number of articles on high-technology welding, and he consults for Lincoln Electric Co. He is dedicated to training others to the level of aerospace TIG welding. He conducts advanced training seminars for the Experimental Aircraft Association, motorsports teams, and is part of the trackside welding team at the Indy 500. He has completed Indy Racing League and Championship Auto Racing Teams race welding throughout the United States and Brazil, and regularly demonstrates TIG welding at the American Welding Society Show, the Essen Welding Show in Germany, and the Canadian Welding Show.
