Storm Softball goes 2-0 against Brown Mackie

Storm Softball hosted Browne Mackie Tuesday in a re-scheduled game from Monday due to poor weather conditions.
Game 1 had Lauren Rivers, a freshman from Lincoln Southeast, take the mound. After a shaky start allowing three runs in the top of the first, Rivers took charge, registering the win and giving way to Megan Hartman to finish the game.
Hartman pitched the sixth inning and struck out all three batters she faced to secure the save.
For the game, Lauren Rivers allowed seven hits, did not walk a batter and struck out two for her first win of the season.
The Storm bats pounded out 16 hits in the win with four home runs. Two were by Megan Hartman and Alexis Graewe and Amber Scherer each hit one. It was the first home run of the season for both Alexis and Amber.
Savannah Grabowski had two hits, as did Aryssa Borrenpohl and Sarah Haake. Ashten Vater and Megan Hartman each had three hits with Hartman batting in five runs for the game.
The final score was SCC 12, Browne Mackie 4.
Game 2 had Megan Hartman take the mound, and she continued where she left off in game one. Megan struck out 10, allowed four hits and four runs in a 9-4 seven-inning game.
The Storm continued to pound out hits with 14, including a home run by Aryssa Borrenpohl.
Alexis Graewe, Aryssa Borrenpohl, Shannon Smith, a freshman from Bellevue East, had two hits each, and Sarah Haake, a freshman from Bellevue West, had three hits.
With the wins, the Storm record is now 20 wins, 21 losses and a tie.
The Storm are scheduled to play at Hastings Wednesday, weather permitting.
