Storm Softball gets a win

The Lady Storm softball team earned their first win of the season with a 5-4 victory over the University of Nebraska Club team in a doubleheader at UNL, Monday, April 1.

Head Coach Bob Gingsburg said the win was a result of a strong pitching performance from sophomore Tiffany Talkington.

Tara Dethlefs also was a key factor in the win. The sophomore belted out a three-run homer and came up big defensively, throwing out three base runners in scoring position from right field.

From right field, Southeast dropped the second game, 17-11 in seven innings, after trailing early 14-6.

Gingsburg said the bats started “coming alive,” but the team “struggled” defensively in the contest.
