Nationally-ranked Brown Mackie proved to be too much for the Southeast Community College men’s basketball team to handle as the Storm fell 111-82 Saturday, Jan. 26, at the Truman Center.
Head Coach Joel Wooton called it a “tough loss” against the 7th ranked team in Division II.
“We played very well in the first 18 minutes of the first half,” Wooton explained. “Then we were plagued by too many turnovers and too few offensive rebounds.”
Brown Mackie got 41 points off turnovers and out rebounded SCC 52-32.
The Lions were hitting on all cylinders as they shot a blistering 56 percent from the field. Thaddeus Ridaeu poured in 33 points, including 6-13 from the three point line.
SCC had four players in double figures.
Delquan Thomas had 25 points and Leldon Love scored a career high 21 points. Tyrell Corlew added 11 points and Mike Johnson chipped in 10.
The loss drops SCC’s record to 14-8 on the season. The Storm will host Union College Thursday, Jan 31, at the Truman Center.
