Storm Lose to CCC Raiders 66-55

That ever – familiar lid was on the bucket for Southeast as they shot just 27 percent from field in an 66-55 defeat to Central Community College Saturday at the Truman Center.
The outcome looked promising for SCC early on as they used a 9-0 run to end the first quarter. Sophomore Madison Hajek put in five of those points to go up 18-10 at the end of one.
Central flipped the 2nd frame, outscoring Southeast 18-10 to go into the half tied at 28-28.
Regan Nickless hit a baseline jumper, and Emily Zvolnek hit a three from the left wing as SCC shot out of halftime on a 5-0 run. They would lead by as many as nine early in the 3rd quarter, and led 41-34 when Central started to fight their way back.
The Raiders used a 14-6 run to take the lead with eight minutes to go in the 4th. CCC outscored SCC 24-11 in the final tally to seal the win.
Zvolanek served up her usual double/double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Hajek and Morgan Frauendorfer had 12 points each. Regan Nickless was a bright spot shooting from the field, hitting 4-8 of her shots for nine points.
The Lady Storm fall to 8-14 on the season, and 1-2 in the conference.
