The Beatrice Phi Beta Lambda chapter held a recruitment meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012 to explain to students what the organization could do for members.
Phi Beta Lambda is Greek for Future Business Leaders and is the college level of the high school FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America).
PBL prepares students for success in business leadership and provides many opportunities to develop business skills.
On Wednesday, the organization described many of the interesting and fun things that they do during a school year from trips around the country to conducting food drives for local food banks.
The moderators of the organization, Karen Emerson and Kim Day, explained the many experiences of past members and took pictures of this meeting.
“There are many opportunities for students to shine in this organization,” asserts Emerson.
One of the members, Peggy Schmidt, revealed “I was a much quieter person, holding to myself as much as possible, until I joined this organization. They have really opened up my personality here.”
Pizza and soda were provided by PBL and drawings for door prizes ended the meeting.
Meetings are now normally held every Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Jackson Hall in room J420 on the Beatrice campus.
