Activities Chair Heidi Spier began by noting that the Green Screen Photo event reported eighty participants. Movie Night, featuring “Puss in Boots” recorded fifty three students and eighty two guests.
She noted that upcoming events were Fun fest (which occurred Wednesday February 22nd) and Treat day (slated for March 8th).
Wellness Chair Ryan Krueger noted that approximately one hundred attendees showed up for Heart Day – the best Heart Day yet. The regularly scheduled dodgeball had been cancelled due to a lack of interest and attendees.
The Wiffle Ball event took place on Thursday February 23rd. Nutrition Day will commence on Monday, March 5th and Bowling will begin on Thursday March 1st. Students are encouraged to locate the event posters throughout the Lincoln campus for further information on SCC sponsored events.
Smith took the floor to note that Community Service for the Friendship home will continue until the end of the quarter. Cash donations will be accepted at the bookstore and the cafeteria.
Afterwards, Tuition for next year was discussed. The motion to accept Option 3 passed. This raises the cost per quarter hour up to $53 for residents and $65.50 for non-residents.
Ms. Jodi Sleeger could not attend, but confirmed via email information regarding the Gender Non-Traditional Project. This project is meant to be used with regard to influencing gender balance in traditionally off balanced roles, such as male nurses.
Meetings take place every Monday SCC is open in the Student Center from 3:30 to 4:30. Visitors are welcome to watch the proceedings. Visitors interested in representing their program in the senate must become verified by their departments, bearing a minimum 2.0 Grade Point Average.
