BEATRICE- SCC Men’s Basketball team suffered another loss on Saturday, Feb. 11, to North Platte Community College. SCC’s record is now 14-10 on the season.
“We struggled in the first half shooting the ball,” said head coach Joel Wooton, “and in the second half, we started playing better defense; that got us going offensively.”
SCC went into the half trailing behind North Platte 35-21. In the second half, they out-scored North Platte but couldn’t come out with a win. They lost 55-57.
Sophomore Domonique Smith of Louisville, Ky., contributed 11 points and 2 assists. Venton Wilder, also a sophomore, from Fort Lauderdale, Fla. gave the Storm 10 points and had 3 assists.
“We played the best defense we’ve played since the start of the year, we just need to make are shots,” added Wooten.
SCC will face Brown Mackie at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Fed. 15, at home.
