SCC Students Get a Spooky Discount

By Will Sleddens

Southeast Community College students will once again be able to purchase discounted tickets to Roca Berry Farm this fall.

Tickets, which are normally $23.50, are available to students for $8 and up to three guests for $15 each.

According to Rachel Mason, Student Life Coordinator at SCC’s Lincoln campus, tickets are available now and must be purchased at the Student Affairs Office, room P1.

“Students have to buy their tickets here (SCC),” she reminded. “They cannot get the discount there. SCC ID is required to get the tickets and to redeem them at Roca Scary Farm.”

Tickets are good for all attractions at Roca Berry Farm, as well as the haunted Roca Scary Farm attractions after sunset.

Roca Berry Farm is located in Roca, about ten miles south of Lincoln.

Daytime attractions are open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Haunted attractions are open 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m on Friday and Saturday.

The farm features multiple haunted houses like the “Haunted Manor” or “Sinister Circus,” as well as the haunted “Psycho Path.” Pumpkin picking and a haunted hayrack ride are also available.

Mason says the promotion has been running for several years and has been very popular with the SCC student population. However, students may want to get their tickets soon, as Mason says she only has 275 tickets to sell.

“Normally, we sell out,” she added. “We’ve sold out for the last five years.”

This is not the only Halloween promotion SCC has done, says Mason.

“We used to do Boo at the Zoo tickets, but the numbers were dropping off, so we’re no longer doing those,” she explained.
