New or veteran supervisors, this workshop is for you.
Southeast Community College’s Continuing Education Division is offering its popular Supervisor Boot Camp twice early in 2012, Jan. 26 and April 18. Both sessions will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at SCC’s Continuing Education Center, 301 S. 68th St. Place, Lincoln. Cost is $209 per person, and lunch is provided.
To register, contact Amy Chesley at 402-437-2709 or [email protected].
The high-energy, interactive boot camp will help provide the foundational knowledge and skills to jump-start a successful leadership career. Participants will learn:
· To transition more effectively in their new role by avoiding the 10 most common pitfalls confronting new supervisors, by learning three skills they’ll need to master to be an effective leader, and to make the psychological and social transition from line employee to supervisor.
· How to manage a multi-generational workforce, which could be up to four generations.
· How to keep out of legal hot water, including tips on how to avoid nine legal land mines and understanding laws new supervisors should know.
A certificate and 0.9 continuing education units will be awarded for successfully completing the boot camp.
