Southeast Community College’s Continuing Education Division is offering a 12-week Aviation Ground School course.
The class, which will be taught by Dr. Dean Doyle, begins Jan. 14 and ends April 1. The class will be held from 6-10 p.m. Tuesdays in Room 334 of the Kennedy Center on SCC’s Beatrice Campus, 4771 W. Scott Road.
The 12-week course prepares students for the FAA written exam, which is necessary for gaining a Visual Flight Rules pilots license.
Course objectives include the fundamentals of flight, flight operations, aviation weather, performance and navigation, and integrating pilot knowledge and skills.
Required textbook and supplies are included in the cost. Doyle has been an FAA-certified flight instructor since 1977 and has experience as a commercial pilot.
