BEATRICE- The Southeast Community College Men’s Basketball team comes out of weekend with a win on Saturday, Feb. 18, against McCook, raising their record to 17-10 on the season.
“We shot the ball better,” said head coach Joel Wooton, “and got to the free throw line by attacking the basket.”
SCC went into half leading by 11 points over McCook. In the second half, they started to slow the ball down and missed enough free throws to allow McCook to climb back into the game, but SCC came out and defeated McCook 82-76.
SCC had four players scoring in double fingers. Freshman Delquan Thomas of Louisville, Ky., and Mike Evens of Bossier City, La., each contributed 17 points.
While Torr Woodhouse, a sophomore of Cambridge, New Zealand, and Venton Wilder, a sophomore of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., scored 14 points.
SCC’s next game will be at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22, at Trenton, Mo., against North Central.
