President Nate Smith of the Southeast Community College Student Senate called the February 6 meeting to order at the SCC – Lincoln Student Center.
Among the first items discussed were the Windows live/Southeast Community College account questions. Mr. Robert Morgan, Director of Distance Learning and Mr. Lyle Neal, Vice President for Technology at SCC stopped in to discuss these matters.
Questions or concerns can be sent to senate members to be presented. Alternatively, students should forward concerns directly to Morgan or Neal.
Activities Committee chair Heidi Spier reminded the senate that Poker takes place on February 9th and that green screen photos are Thursday, February 16th. The Fun Fest takes place on Friday, February 22nd.
Wellness Chair Ryan Krueger noted that 71 participants took the opportunity to donate to the blood drive. He further explained that Dodge ball will take place on February 16th starting at 3:00 p.m. and Wiffle Ball is on Thursday, February 23rd from 3:00 p.m. until completion.
Secretary Alex Prokop spoke briefly on the “My Turn 2 Drive” program – an incentive delivering program encouraging designated driving. The motion passed to discontinue SCC’s involvement in the program.
The SCC Lincoln Campus has had complaints of problems keeping the climate control in proper working order. Smith noted that the construction on the new expansion makes proper temperatures difficult to attain. He further noted that extreme conditions should be reported to the instructor.
SCC Senate Meetings take place from 3:30 p.m. on Mondays until their completion, approximately an hour later in the SCC Lincoln Campus Student Center. Guests are welcome to attend.
