AGCO, Your Agriculture Company, a worldwide manufacturer and distributor of agricultural equipment and infrastructure, has established a relationship with Southeast Community College, offering its “AGCO Advantage” Training Program within SCC’s Diesel-Ag EquipmentService Tech program on the Milford Campus.
The purpose of the “AGCO Advantage” Training and Scholarship Program is to recruit and train entry-level technicians for employment with a participating AGCO dealer to service the technologically advanced AGCO products which are sold through four core brands: Challenger, Fendt, Massey Ferguson, and Valtra.
Students will be sponsored by a participating dealer, attend 21 months of technical training at SCC, and will graduate with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Diesel-Ag Equipment Service Tech, as well as “AGCO Advantage” certification that will enable the student to commence work as a service technician at the dealer.
In September, AGCO and SCC agreed to begin preparations for the July 2014 launch of the “AGCO Advantage” Program. Recruitment of prospective students is now underway for the traditional July and January start dates. SCC instructor training with AGCO product lines will be expanded to promote the highest level of training possible.
The highly successful Diesel-Ag Equipment Service Tech program is committed to serving the needs of all agriculture equipment service and repair facilities and is designed to provide yet another opportunity for students to enter the exciting and challenging world of agricultural equipment service as a career technician.
