The Lincoln senate held a meeting on Monday, August 29, 2011.
President Nate Smith brought up the ice machine again and told everyone the budget they had to stay within, which is $4,500. The ice machine is going to be put in the student center. So whenever students or faculty need ice, they can just put a cup under it and get some ice.
The new business announced at the meeting was the sign-up sheet for the Senate Banquet coming up Monday, Sept. 19, at 5 p.m. For the meeting, several activities are planned.
Senate members will eat, talk to new members and present awards. Five awards will be presented to the senior chair member, wellness chair member, a new member; activities chair member and the executive chair member.
Not only will those five people receive awards, everyone that goes out for the senate gets a attendees award. Student Activities Coordinator Rachel Mason hopes that “at the banquet the senate will get a new member from all different kinds of programs.”
Some of the following upcoming events/announcements are Laser Crystal Key Chains on Friday, Sept. 9; Treat Day-Ice Cream Cones on Tuesday, Sept. 13; and Massages on Wednesday, Sept. 14 all are held in the student center.
Also at the meeting, Nolan Gurney suggested opening the gym earlier so people could go workout before classes.
