BEATRICE- The Southeast Community College Lady Storm Basketball team raised their record to 14-2 on the season with a win over Doane JV on Wednesday, Jan. 25.
“We started off very slow the first half,” said head coach Vicki Wooton. “We didn’t box out and are defense was very weak. In the second half we stepped it up.”
SCC was behind at the half 32-34. Southeast come out the second half and took the lead. They ended up winning the game 84-62.
Sophomore guard Monique Stevens of Wodonga, Victoria, Australia, led the storm with 14 points and 10 assists.
Also scoring in double figures for the Storm was Freshman forward Kindrea Poole of Las Vegas, Nev., with 16 points and 8 rebounds, and Mesha Phillips, a freshman from North Las Vegas, Nev. Phillips had 15 points and 4 assists.
SCC’s next game will be at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 4, at McCook.
