Illuminations, Southeast Community College’s fine arts magazine is currently seeking student and faculty members to submit their own art. Illuminations Editor Kimberly Fangman reports that she is seeking a variety of submissions throughout the college.
“Our goal with Volume 14 is to receive submissions from each SCC program,” she noted. “Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to consider contributing work yourself and then encouraging your colleagues and students with whom you have interaction to do the same.”
Illuminations features various kinds of art – any medium that can be placed in the magazine. “Illuminations publishes any creative or academic piece that can be reproduced in print, including short stories, poetry, photographs, artwork, essays, editorials, song lyrics, and so on,” Fangman encouraged. “Any current SCC student or faculty…is invited to submit.”
Illuminations has recently redesigned their look to better accommodate its content. “We have made conscious efforts to improve the physical layout of the magazine,” Fangman commented. “The size is slightly larger, and the interior pages are in full color to showcase artwork.”
Any submissions for Illuminations must be submitted on or before Friday, May 25. Submission forms may be obtained from Fangman. She can be reached at [email protected]
Volume 13 of Illuminations can be found at the Learning Resource Center or in the main offices at Energy Square and the Continuing Education Center. It can also be found online at http://www.southeast.edu/studentservices/Writing
