Name: Sierra Hester
Age: 19
Sport: Basketball
Years in sport: 7½ years
Hometown: Las Vegas, Nevada
Intended Major: Athletic Training
Sierra is attending Southeast Community College is because she got a scholarship, and she wanted something different from the hustle of Las Vegas.
After graduating, she plans to go over to D1 in basketball. She would love to go overseas to Europe. She also plans on becoming an Athletic Trainer to be involved in the sport as long as she can.
Before playing basketball, Sierra used to play soccer for 7 years. She got into basketball after one day trying it out.
Sierra describes herself in three words as; Funny, Fast, and Crazy.
Her greatest strength is also her weakness. Letting people get to her, and not letting people get to her seem to be very difficult to work on. Thankfully one of her coaches gave her some great advice.
The best advice she ever received was from a previous coach. He said, “Don’t let the crowd, or anybody, get to you.”
The best time Sierra had while playing with the Storm was when they were playing against SCC Lincoln. The girls spent the whole time singing along to instrumental versions of songs, remaining hyped the whole night.
Sadly, she has not been able 15 games of the season. Due to bad grades, a torn thumb ligament, a hurt hip (which happened on her birthday), and a sprained ankle.
One goal of Sierra’s is to get to the WNBA and go to Europe.
