Employee profile: Shelley Stoltenberg
October 27, 2014
Position: Special Populations Coordinator; my office is in V123 on the Lincoln campus
Educational Background – I have a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Psychology from Moorhead State University in Moorhead, Minn. (now called Minnesota State University at Moorhead)
Hometown – I grew up in a small farming community in the southwest corner of Minnesota called Luverne
Family – My husband Scott is a Psychology Professor at UNL
Free Time – I love to garden, paint, read and cook, pretty much in that order.
Pets – I have a fourteen year old dog that we adopted when he was four from a shelter in Lead, S.D. He had been living out of a car with two other dogs and two people. His name is Buckley, and he’s a funny little dude.
Where would I want to retire – If money was not an issue, I’d retire in southern England, but I’ll probably just stay here in wonderful Nebraska.
What is my mission – My mission is to help students find their path and graduate from SCC.
Favorite Season – Spring! No question about that one. I love it when the spring flowers start to push out of the ground, the grass greens up, and the trees leaf out and bloom. It’s a new and exciting beginning that holds promise for great joy every year.
