LINCOLN – The Lincoln chapter of Campus Crusade for Christ is looking to increase membership and activities.
Campus Crusade for Christ is a student, Christian organization meant to provide a spiritual environment to study and discuss the Bible, worship, pray, encourage and provide opportunities for Christian fellowship. The organization is student led and faculty helps when needed but do not play a very big role.
Those students involved in the Campus Crusade for Christ have gone to conferences and retreats together in the past. They have also done cookouts and had bonfires where they discussed and learned about Christ.
Currently, they are spending time in a Bible study class Wednesdays from 4p.m. to 5p.m. in room N11 and also gather for prayer time. Each meeting is started with singing, then Bible study and they finish with a prayer. They also have one Wednesday per month when the students decide to play games.
Jeannette Bean, the group advisor for Campus Crusade for Christ says, “Two new students have started attending. They are both eager to see Crusade grow. One of them has put up flyers in the Cafeteria and in the Student Center announcing our meeting time.”
At the moment there are no future plans due to the small size of the gathering group. The organization is hoping for more students to come and see what they are all about and maybe with more growth, they will be able to do more organized activities like retreats.
