BEATRICE – The SCC Horticulture Department held its annual flower sale towards the end of April, and it continued a tradition of success according to Horticulture instructor Kevin Christiansen.

The flower sale was held in the late afternoons of Monday, April 23, through Wednesday, April 25.

“The flowers were grown by my greenhouse class during the winter quarter,” Christiansen stated.

“There are many students and faculty who volunteer to help with the flower sale ever year,” he said.

There were a selection of at least 30 varieties of garden plants and herbs from over 10,000 plants that were grown by the class.

The money raised from the sale is put back into the horticulture production budget for that year.

“It’s more about the event itself than the profit made from it,” he said.
