BEATRICE – While the SCC Storm fell to both of its opponents at the Southeast Tournament on Saturday, the team gained some valuable experience.
In the first game, the team played Mineral Area College and lost in three sets, 14-25, 15-25 and 22-25.
Colby Community College was the second opponent of the day, and the Storm also lost in three sets, 23-25, 17-25 and 20-25.
Head coach Carrie Puhalla said, “This was a tough tournament, but I am still glad that we went. Playing these teams helped us look at what we need to work on for Regionals.”
She added that the team had to adjust to some faster-paced teams, “which is good for them, and I think it will help us in the long run.”
Puhalla said she was very happy with the performance of freshman Allison Glathar of Dawson. “We came across some pretty big hitters, and she was digging up quite a few balls,” she commented.
