Imagine your life through the pictures you have. You, your family, your friends and all of your ups and downs of life laid out in front of you. Now imagine that the last five years just disappears.
That is “The Vow” in a nutshell. “The Vow” is a love story with a bit of a hiccup thrown in.
Paige, who is played by Rachel McAdams, is a woman who survives a fatal car accident with her husband Leo (Channing Tatum).
She awakens from a coma and does not remember the past five years of her life or her husband. But she does remember being married to Jeremy (Scott Speedman), a big shot lawyer who jumps on the opportunity to try and regain what he and Paige used to have.
Based upon true events, director Michael Sucsy wanted to movie to be as lifelike as possible and researched memory loss in depth.
Similar to many coma patients, Paige speaks with a raspy upon coming out of her coma (breathing tubes irritate the throat), suffers from headaches and hears sounds much more loudly than normal.
However, profound amnesia is rare.
“The Vow” is about the trials and tribulations that Paige and Leo go through trying to go back to their “normal” life and find their love for one another.
Paige has to re-meet everyone that she has met in the last five years and try to remember her own husband in the process.
It is yet another love story that touches viewers hearts and plays with their emotions.
“The Vow” is the kind of movie that gives single people out there hope that true love does exist.
