BEATRICE—SCC Men’s Basketball team suffered another close loss on Tuesday, Feb. 7 to Northeast Community College, dropping their record to 14-9 on the season.
“We struggled with shooting and fouls in the first half,” said head coach Joel Wooton, “and in the second half we had lapses, but made two good runs.”
SCC went into the half trailing behind Northeast 33-42. In the second half, they out-scored Northeast, but couldn’t overcome the deficit and lost 75-81.
Freshman guard Delquan Thomas of Louisville, Ky., contributed with 13 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists, and 1 steal.
Gatpan Panoam, a 6’5” freshman from Anchorage, Alaska, gave the Storm 13 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 blocked shot.
“We just need a win to get our confidence back,” added Wooton.
SCC will face North Platte at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11 at home.
