BEATRICE – The Southeast Community College Men’s Basketball team were able to hold on for a win over Southwestern on Saturday, Jan. 21, and raise their record to 13-5.
“Southwestern did a good job of slowing us down and keeping the ball out of the post,” said head coach Joel Wooton.
At the half, SCC led Southwestern 31-21. In the second half, Southwestern battled back, but Southeast held on and won 56-55.
“We were in control of the game,” said Wooton, “but started missing jump shots and Southwestern came down and cored or hit free throws.”
Freshman guard, Delquan Thomas, of Louisville, Ky., led the Storm with 11 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 5 steals.
