BEATRICE—The Lady Storm Basketball team returned from Norfolk on Tuesday, Feb. 7, with a 61-52 win over Northeast.
“(This was) a good road win to take a 4-0 lead in the Conference,” said head coach Vicki Wooton.
SCC went into the half leading Northeast with a score of 24-21. SCC defeated Northeast and raised their record to 17-2 on the season.
“We played solid the entire game,” Wooton added.
Sophomore guard Monique Stevens of Wodonga, Victoria, Australia, led the Storm with 20 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 blocked shot.
Mesha Phillips, a freshman guard from North Las Vegas, Nev., gave SCC 15 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 blocked shots and 6 steals.
“This was a team win,” Wooton said. “We shared the ball and took good shots.”
Southeast’s next game is 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11 against North Platte at home.
