BEATRICE—The SCC Lady Storm Basketball team returned home from Hastings with a win on Tuesday, Jan. 10. SCC defeated Hastings JV 72-60.
In the first half, SCC fell behind by as many as 11 points, but fought back to end the half trailing 31-32.
“The second half we turned up the defense,” said head coach Vicki Wooton, “and held Hastings JV to 28 points.”
Freshman guard, Adrianna Heredia, from Las Vegas, Nev., had a season high of 11 points.
Monique Stevens, a sophomore from Wodonga, Victoria, Australia, gave SCC 14 points and 4 assists.
Also contributing for the Storm was Mesha Phillips, a freshman from North Las Vegas, Nev. Phillips had 12 points, 3 assists and 6 steals.
“(This was) a good win coming off break,” added Wooton.
SCC’s next game will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at Brown Mackie in Salina, Kan.
