BEATRICE—On Saturday, March 31, the SCC Women’s Softball team pulled away with two wins against the Kansas State Club Team to raise their record to 4-11 on the season.
Marley Christian, a sophomore from Lincoln, pitched the entire first game after being out two weeks for an ankle injury.
Christian had 7 strikeouts on the game, leading the Storm to the 10-0 shutout.
Shelby Baker of Wymore started the second game pitching, with Jalyn Meyer of Lincoln, coming in to the game to relieve her.
Baker and Meyer combined to allow one run on two hits, and struck out 7 batters.
SCC came away from the second game with a 16-1 victory over K-State.
“These were much needed wins for us,” said head coach Pat Lytle. “The girls have gotten off to a slow start this season.”
“We need to keep improving on offense in order to win more games,” added Lytle.
SCC will travel to Columbus on Friday, April 6 for the Central Community College tournament.
