This year, the students of Lincoln Southeast are meeting a new teacher in the Dental Assisting program who wants others to “enjoy their smile.”
Angel Dean is originally from a small town in Nebraska about 30 miles south of North Platte called Maywood.
Upon graduating from Maywood High, she went on to study at Lincoln Southeast. Her first major was in Social Sciences, but she went on from there to major in Dental Assisting.
“I wanted to do something to help people,” she said when asked why she chose her career path.
As a child, Dean had braces and a few oral surgeries, which she said helped to encourage her to work in dentistry.
Dean says she really enjoys her job as a Dental Assisting instructor here at SCC and said that her new students are “fun to work with.”
She decided to work for SCC because she really likes the program offered for Dental Assisting. She saw this job as an opportunity to help others and teach students what to know when working in an office.
“I want them to enjoy and truly love what they do,” she said of her students.
“I really want people to enjoy their smile,” she added.
